Four seasons of fun in Wisconsin's northwoods

Four seasons of fun await you in Wisconsin's "real north". There are unlimited recreational opportunities in this area. We are on the Woodland Trails ATV and the Iron Snowshoe Snowmobile trail systems.

In addition, we are very close to the Nicolet National Forest, the new Governor Thompson State Park and the Peshtigo River State Forest surrounding High Falls & Caldron Falls Flowages.

The Crossroads is located in Marinette County with over 200 lakes and 2,000 miles of streams, 19 County Parks, and 231,000 acres of county forest land. There are 130 miles of ATV trails, with connections to hundreds more. Neighboring Oconto County (less than 10 miles away) offers 180,000 acres of public lands, hundreds of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails, 341 miles of trout streams, 58 lakes with public access and 98 miles of hiking and biking trails. Other popular area activities include but are not limited to the following:

Bicycling
The "Menominee River Century Ride" and the "Tour de Colour" bicycling tours are held annually in June and September respectively. "Marinette County Scenic Bicycle Routes" is available by calling 1-800-236-6681.

Boating
Area waterways offer a variety of boating options with abundant public boat launches on nearby lakes and flowages. Rental of pantoon boats, canoes and fishing boats and motors are available in the immediate area.

Cross-Country Skiing
Marinetee County Cross-Country Ski Association provides over 30 miles of trails along the scenic Peshtigo River with varying difficulty for the beginner to advance cross-country ski enthusiast.

Fall Colorama
From mid-September to mid-October, come see the north woods aflame with color. Visit the Mountain Fire Tower for a spectacular view from above.

Fish Hatchery

Fishing
Choose from the over 400 lakes or the 600 miles of trout streams this area offers. A wide variety of fishing opportunities, from pan fish to trout and game fish await your discovery, including a fly fishing area just east of us on the Peshtigo River. Ice fishing is also very popular in this area. Boat rentals, bait shops and guide service are available locally.

Fun Park
Go-Karts, Miniature Golf and Bumper Boats located just a few miles away.

Golf
There are a dozen golf courses within a 30 mile radius of us offering a variety of course layouts with a wide range of difficulty levels.

Hiking Trails
There are a multitide of established trails in the area in the National Forest, the State Forest & Park and on Marinette County Parks & Forest lands. 

Hunting
Our area offers both gun and bow season. Species include white tail deer, bear, wild turkey, grouse, woodcock and small game.

Mountain Fire Tower
The lookout tower in Mountain offers a spectacular view of the surrounding forests, especially during fall color.

Museums
Located nearby are the Crivitz Area Museum, the Peshtigo Fire Museum and Logging Museums in Marinette and Wabeno.

Rustic Road Tour
We are located right on Parkway Road, Wisconsin Rustic Road #32, ideal for both car and bicycle touring.

Shopping
This area offers an abundance of antique and gift shops as well as art galleries and specialty shops for the avid treasure hunter.

Snowmobiling
We are right on Iron Snowshoe Snowmobile Trail with over 100 miles of trails throughout the flowage area and beyond. Visit the bigsnowpage.com for local information and condition updates.

Swimming
There are a variety of public parks and beaches in the surrounding area.

Water Ski Shows
The Twin Bridge Ski Club performs weekly throughout the summer on High Falls Flowage.

Waterfall Tour
Marinette County is the Waterfall Capitol of Wisconsin. Many of them are easily accessible via county parks or forest lands that are yours to explore. - Map available.

Whitewater Rafting
Local outfitters offer guided trips on the Peshtigo River and the Menominee River.
